What was born in your life today?

Appreciation. I always find a way to make the most of the holidays. Even with limited finances, I always manage to make Christmas a special time for my family. This year was just too overwhelming. Through a variety of corcumstances I knew I couldn't do it. We would still be together, but I couldn't afford the presents and the big dinner. I was unable to bring it all together this time.

Not only was my family completely understanding...they made Christmas happen for me. Christmas morning brought presents under the tree. Small, but thoughtful gifts gained through self sacrifice and unselfishness. A dinner bought and prepared by my amazing roommates and best friends. And a day of fun, laughter and love spending quality time together - which was the best gift of all.

The thoughtfulness that went into making this holiday special was overwhelming. And, I was able to sit and enjoy every minute of it. I have never known such appreciation for my family. They took what could have been such a disappointment to them and turned it around, lifting the burden from my shoulders. I am truly blessed.
